Tarmac Driveways

Tarmac driveways that last

Tarmac has been the go-to driveway surface in Britain for over a century, and it earned that reputation honestly. It is tough, quick to lay, and takes everything the weather and your daily routine can throw at it. You also get a clean, sharp finish at a price that makes sense for most homes.

How we lay it

The temperature of your tarmac when it’s laid matters more than almost anything else.

Cold tarmac looks rougher, and is more prone to issues. The hotter it is when we lay it, the better it compacts, the cleaner the finish, and the longer it lasts.

That is why we run our own hotbox lorry. It keeps the tarmac at proper working temperature from the depot all the way to your driveway, so it is still piping hot when we start laying it.

The result is a smoother, denser, longer-lasting surface, every time.

We do all our own groundworks, with our own diggers and our own grab lorry to take spoil away. One team, one set of standards, one point of contact from the first dig to the final finish.

Common questions

These a Lot.

Yes, all of it. We don’t use use subcontractors, we own our own machinery, our own lorries (including a grab lorry to take the spoil away), and our team handles everything from the first dig to the final finish. It means we control the quality from start to finish, and you only ever deal with one company.

Yes. If an existing surface is in good condition it’s possible to lay the new drive on top – which is a quicker, cheaper option. If it’s being dug out, we make sure that it’s removed and disposed of safely (we’re a registered Waste Carrier), so you’re not left with a pile of rubble to deal with.

Most driveways are done and dusted within a couple of days. For bigger jobs, such as digging out the old surface and starting from scratch, it can take a little longer, but we normally get jobs completed within a week. Whatever the size, we’ll give you a clear timeline up front when we quote, so you’re not left wondering.

We recommend waiting 48 hours before driving on it. Tarmac in particular wants two days to fully harden. Weather can play a part with resin, so we will tell you exactly when you are good to go before we leave the site.
